CIFAL Newcastle is a United Nations (UN) and United National Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
Cifal is an accredited organisation which designs and delivers learning solutions related to UN thematic areas (Urban Governance and Planning, Social Inclusion, Capacity for Agenda 2030, Resilience and Disaster Risk Management, Public-Private Partnerships, Education and Innovation, Sustainable Development Goals).
Our purpose is to build the capacity of cities and communities with a focus on integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Agenda 2030 and implementing Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies.
By transferring evidence-based practice, we empower individuals, communities, governments and organisations to effectively address global developmental challenges and reduce disaster risks.
CIFAL Newcastle is the only CIFAL centre in Australia and Asia Pacific. There are 19 other CIFAL centres around the world.
